The app enhances decision-making processes and situational awareness while promoting better quality and cost-effective patient care.
The emphasis on patient privacy is evident through its HIPAA-compliance and various security features such as password protection and encryption. The app ensures that photos and videos are only sent to approved networks and are not stored in the device gallery.
Real-world applications of GD e-Bridge include aiding in stroke assessments by sharing recorded or live videos with hospitals or stroke centers. It allows for sharing images of trauma scenes with trauma teams for better decision-making. Additionally, it enables telemedicine consults for mobile integrated healthcare or community paramedicine between patients and physicians through live streaming.

<li>Bio/chemical/hazmat event – Photos, video clips or live streaming from the scene can help minimize the number of responders, healthcare providers and members of the public exposed, improve triage, and ensure patients are taken to facilities equipped to handle such emergencies.</li>

The app includes a tracking feature that should be used judiciously due to its impact on battery life when GPS is running in the background.
